MEET YOUR WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER IN PARIS

OR EVERY WHERE ELSE …

Saya started photography as a fashion photographer. She studied fine arts, drawing and painting. She achieved in 2009 a series of portraits named Human Beauty. Passionate about people, she became a photojournalist for an association, and made a series of portraits of Southeast Asian refugees.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE YOUR

ARTISTIC WORK?

Before becoming a wedding photographer, I did a retrospective on my artistic career. People defined my work as mysterious, romantic and intimate. I came naturally to this. What I was looking for in my series of portraits "Human Beauty" wasn't to transcribe the physical beauty of the person who was in front of me, but to show who was hiding under his or her physical appearance. I didn't define myself as a fashion photographer, but as a fashion PORTRAITIST. It is what I want to offer to my couples, not only a wedding reporter but also the service of a portraitist photographer for their wedding. I want to capture not only a beautiful image but also the emotions of a moment. A timeless photograph can be incarnated through the emotion that the image emanates so the real challenge is to create a beautiful image with an absolute simplicity. An emotion is never as strong as when we are in front of an image which speaks of itself by its purity and its simplicity.

I wanted to give my lovebirds, not only a wedding report but the service of a portrait photographer wedding, capturing a beautiful image by retranscribing the emotions of the moment.

A timeless photograph can be incarnated through the emotion that the image emanates so the real challenge is to create a beautiful image with an absolute simplicity. An emotion is never as strong as when we are in front of an image which speaks of itself by its purity and its simplicity.

WHAT IS YOUR RELATION WITH

YOUR CLIENTS ?

I often meet couples who are apprehensive about the photo shoot. They tell me they are not professional models, or not accustomed to the camera. That's why it's important for my clients and I, to choose each other to work together. Being their wedding photographer is about creating a relationship with the couple, and as in the case of all relationships, the trust is essential. Then, from there begins my work of reporter: we take the time to get to know each other, we discuss on the phone, I meet them and I explore their personality. It's an ephemeral link which is constructed during the preparation of the wedding and up to the Big Day. Since I transcribe through my images their love and their emotion, it's a story that we write together. It's a real privilege to be the wedding photographer: to be close to my couples physically, and also humanly and emotionally.

IS IT IMPORTANT FOR YOU TO DEVELOP

YOUR PERSONAL ARTISTIC WORK?

I started photography, teenager, by making simple portraits with a Polaroid camera. The carelessness of youth allowed me at 21 to sign my first contract for a four-year exhibition in a gallery in San Francisco, I had a lot of chances from the beginning to share what I was passionate about. Then, the Polaroïd factory closed its doors and like a child who was not afraid to fall and get up to renew a fall, one ends up becoming aware, then this consciousness ends up paralyzing you. I had a very long artistic death, 6 years to mourn my fellow artist, to question myself and to fear the expectations of people who followed me since my beginning. I was so apprehensive about the digital camera. One day I remembered how everything had started - I had listened to my heart. Since that day, I released him again, I let him open, express myself, speak and here I am today to testify to so many stories of love through my images.

HOW DO YOU DEFINE A PERFECT

WEDDING REPORTAGE ?

A wedding report must first and foremost be complete. Since I was little, I never chose between maths and literature or chocolate and strawberry! Even today it’s felt in my wedding reportage, why choose? A wedding is emotions, crying, laughter and also aesthetic photos, a beautiful composition and a beautiful light. I like to take the time to know each of my clients. Beyond being their wedding photographer they enrich me with their story and I try to transcribe it in their wedding reportage. A successful wedding report must to be complete, full of emotions, authentic and natural, with some beautiful timeless and editorial photographs, beautiful pictures of decorations and pictures of the people you love.
