A PRE WEDDING PHOTO SESSION

IN LAVENDER FIELD IN PROVENCE

I grew up in South of France between Cannes in French Riviera and Saint Tropez in Provence, with the songs of the cicadas, the fields of olive tree, the incredible landscapes and the never ending nuits d’été. Coming back to Provence for weddings is often an opportunity for me to take a step back in time. Time has stopped here, with the old villages which never age with the stone walls of houses steeped in history, the cobblestones of the floors worn by the passage of walkers through time and the nature which remains unchanged. So I understand the desire of Amanda and Dan to come and take their pre wedding photoshoot in the lavender fields with a colorful lavender watercolor palette as a background, with the flowery scent of freshly cut dried flowers for sale to tourists who want to take home a little bit of memories of Provence.

MA RENCONTRE

WITH A NEW YORKER COUPLE

"Mom, I think I found THE ONE!" Dan said the evening of his meeting with Amanda to his mother. "And how do you know she's the right one?" "She's beautiful, smart, and as crazy as me." This speech that held Dan's mom at their wedding is quite like the image of their pre wedding photoshoot in Provence. I met Dan and Emma for the first time in Manhattan in a New York art deco bar. It was my first trip to New York, in this cosmopolitan city between modern and art deco building. They ordered a glass of white wine and I a Bourbon cocktail and our meeting started like that. We talked about their life in New York and they gave me their favorite addresses in this incredible city. Few days before their wedding day at Le Galinier, the rain was there. Tourists fled the lavender fields and left in their cars. While I met Amanda and Dan for their pre wedding photoshoot in Provence in lavender field, locked in a car, dead laughing to try somehow to make a bow tie suitable! It was vacation time for these two New Yorkers who left the work pressure far behind.

THE PRE WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT

ATMOSPHERE IN PROVENCE

It was raining in lavender field in Provence and that had absolutely no impact on them, their smiles remained on their faces! Their destination wedding in Provence was the next day, the rain was so welcome to hope not to be part of the big day !!!! I love the rain, for the skies it leaves us, drawn from its clouds and shades of gray and its smell. The field smelled of wet lavenders, mixing with the smell of the earth. It was the end of the season, the flowers were dry and ready to be harvested. Do you believe me if I tell you that the pre wedding photo shoot was done in 10 min ? Between two curtains of water we ran in the lavender fields for a series of crazy laughs and children's games.
